Thomas Burns, Chairman
With more than 20 years of experience, Tom has long been a leader in color management technology. As co-founder and chairman, Tom's chief responsibility is direct the overall vision and strategy of ColorSciences.
His visionary leadership, energy and drive have earned him a reputation as an industry innovator. A results-oriented executive, Tom engineered a series of successful technology partnerships with Kodak, Canon, Konica-Minolta, and Heidelberg.
Prior to ColorSciences, Tom served as president of SouthWest Software. He spearheaded efforts there that resulted in a series of firsts for the company. Southwest Software was the first to receive Postscript calibration patents for imagesetters, printers, copiers, and computer to plate, and the first to introduce spectral-based statistical process control.
Jim Burns, Chief Technology Officer
Jim is a renowned color scientist with more than 15 years of experience in color technology. As CTO, he defines, develops and supports ColorSciences' strategic direction through rigorous product research, engineering, development and testing.
As a developer and an advisor to large corporations, such as Kodak, Adobe, Canon, and Konica-Minolta, Jim proved himself to be a master at creating industry-leading solutions for color control and calibration.
As co-founder and technical leader of Southwest Software, Jim led the design and development of multiple patented technologies in color process control and calibration. Prior to Southwest, Jim worked for the Boeing Corporation on the Boeing E-3A AWACS, the largest military software project of its time. Jim holds a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
Ronald D. Dahl, Ph.D., Vice President Sales
Ron is responsible for day-to-day sales and marketing activities for the company. Prior to joining ColorSciences,
Ron was a founder and COO of Chromaticity, Inc., a company specializing in providing professional support services
to large and small organizations in the graphic arts industry. He also served as Director of Training for IKON Office
Solutions. In this role he was responsible for color training, systems analyst training and all the corporate e-Learning
initiatives. Before IKON, Ron had been an active consultant to many organizations within the printing and publishing
industry where he provided consulting across the broad spectrum of digital and print color technologies.
Ron also spent 20 years as a university professor teaching graphic communications at various universities in the US, most
recently as a tenured professor at Arizona University in Tempe. His background as an educator, consultant, and trainer,
Ron has been frequently published in trade and academic journals and is a member of numerous trade organizations
where he is a regularly an invited speaker.
Mike Frost, Advisory Director
Mike is CEO of Controls, Inc, the fastest growing energy management company in America. As ColorSciences Advisory Director, Mike is engaged in all aspects for the company's strategic planning. Prior to Controls, Inc., Mike also served as CEO of the ColorSciences during 2004 and 2005.
Before joining ColorSciences, Mike was co-founder of ClearCube Technology. Under his leadership, ClearCube experienced dramatic growth resulting from innovations made in the desktop blade PC market. Thanks largely to ClearCube, this technology is now the dominant force on the floors of Wall Street trading and in highly secure government data centers. Prior to ClearCube, Mike was founder and CEO of TechWorks.
